Hobby
Definition: an interest or activity
to which a person devotes time for pleasure
You will
learn a hobby and track your progress in a weekly journal. You will choose a
hobby that you have never done before, and you will teach yourself that hobby. You
may use resources like the library, the Internet, and people in your lives to
learn.
The hobby
must be something you have NEVER
done before. Learn something BRAND NEW
TO YOU. Materials for this project will be determined by you.
Hobby Ideas-
● Juggling
● Yo-yo tricks
● Knit
● Crochet
● Hacky sack
● Play a new song on an
instrument
● Learn a complicated dance (aka waltz,
Thriller)
● Ventriloquist
● Pottery / sculpture
● Learn ASL alphabet and tell a story
You will
present your hobby to the class at ANY TIME.
Your journal
entry should not be long, but should cover what you did that week regarding your
hobby and how you feel about the learning process. It will be entered into the
Google Form available on Mr. Hammer’s blog (hammereagleview.blogspot.ca).
Please also take pictures and videos to document your progress.
For example-
Day One 9/16/16
Decided to learn to juggle. I balled
up some socks to practice with because then I don’t have to buy anything and
they’re soft. I looked up juggling videos on YouTube. They say I should start
with tossing one object. Tossed a sock back and forth. I think I might have it,
but I have to watch it. This might be hard, but I can do it.
This should
be difficult. Do not pick something easy to learn. I want you to struggle. I
want you to track your learning process.
